Floods: 68 people from 18 households evacuated to 1 relief centre in S’wak as of 6.30pm (Feb 21)

KUCHING, Feb 21: A total of 68 people from 18 households are being sheltered in one temporary evacuation centre (PPS) in Sarawak as of 6.30pm today.

According to the Sarawak Civil Defence Force (APM), a PPS was opened in the Kuching division at approximately 11am today.

The PPS, Masjid Darul Istiqlaal, was to house victims from Kampung Sungai Maong.

Overall, authorities noted that the trend of flood evacuations remains upward, with disaster response agencies continuing to monitor river levels, weather conditions and the safety of affected communities.

Residents in flood-prone areas have been advised to remain alert and comply with evacuation instructions when issued. — DayakDaily
