SERIAN: All projects under the Greater Kuching Coordination Development Agency (GKCDA) are running smoothly and expected to be completed by the middle or late 2025.
GKCDA chairman Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said this entailed a total of 372 projects under phase one.
“Out of that, 201 projects are being conducted in Kuching while 171 projects are being conducted in Serian.
“At the moment, two projects have been completed, while six projects have been awarded to the contractors and within various stages of implementation.
“Forty-eight projects have been tendered, and waiting to be awarded, and 34 projects are now ready to be tendered, while 282 projects are now in planning stage (site visits, consultant appointment, preparation of document tender),” he said.
He said this in his speech when officiating at the handing over of the completed GKCDA project for Bukit Semuja constituency at Kampung Sorak Dayak multipurpose hall here on Wednesday.
Sagah, who is also the Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister hoped that every department and staff under GKCDA would work together and cooperate in making sure all the projects run smoothly.
“Because all these projects are being developed for the wellbeing of the people.
“Our GKCDA tagline is #PembangunanUntukRakyat (Development for the people),” he added.
Regarding the two projects that were completed under the Bukit Semuja constituency, Sagah stated that the two projects are the pipeline extension project in Kampung Sorak Sumpung, valued at RM182,659, and the pipeline development project in Kampung Belimbing A, valued at RM163,250.
“So overall total allocation for the project would be RM345,909,” he added.
In the meantime, Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus announced that 47 projects worth RM152,284,909 have been listed under the GKCDA.
“That being said, I hope the people under my constituency would give cooperation towards contractors and agencies in implementing the GKCDA project.
“The next project will begin this coming December, which will involve Tebekang and Koran area,” he said.
