KUCHING (March 16): The General Operations Force (GOF) Sarawak Brigade recorded seizures amounting to RM28.6 million during Op Taring raids conducted in several districts statewide from March 1 to 15.
GOF Sarawak commander SAC Lim Bak Phai said the raiding teams had also arrested 34 individuals comprising 24 locals and 10 foreigners.
“The Op Taring raids seized various contraband items, including liquor, cigarettes, food products, frozen food items, fuel and logs.
“The raiding teams also seized several vehicles and tools believed to have been used to carry out unlawful activities,” he said in a statement.
Throughout the Op Taring operations as at March 15, GOF Sarawak recorded 145 cases with total seizures amounting to RM105.38 million, and arrested 134 individuals comprising 98 locals and 36 foreigners.
