Hikmah Bintulu rolls out strategic plan to enhance preschool excellence

BINTULU (Dec 18): Harakah Islamiah Kindergarten (Hikmah) Bintulu has adopted a Special Strategic Plan Workshop using a Performance Management System (PMS) approach to reinforce its early childhood education framework.

Hikmah Bintulu Kindergarten Management Board chairman Yusuff Ali said the system focuses on target-based planning, key performance indicators (KPIs), continuous monitoring, and phased improvements.

“The system allows the management, teachers, and committee members to align the kindergarten’s vision, mission and direction systematically, ensuring every initiative delivers maximum benefit for our pupils’ holistic development,” he said.

Speaking at the Hikmah Bintulu Kindergarten Appreciation and Excellence Ceremony 2025, officiated by Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang at Dewan Ibnu Sina, SK Agama Majlis Islam Sarawak (Mis) Bintulu, Yusuff highlighted the kindergarten’s dual two education streams.

The academic stream emphasises cognitive skills, literacy, numeracy, creativity and moral values, while the Tahfiz stream focuses on Quranic memorisation and character building.

“This integrated approach nurtured balanced individuals with strong moral values, preparing them for future challenges,” he said, adding that early exposure to religious education helps shape positive character traits in preschoolers.

Yusuff also expressed his gratitude to Pang for his continued support, particularly in upgrading facilities such as the hall to create a more comfortable and conducive learning environment.

He thanked the management board members, headmaster, teachers and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) committee for their dedication in ensuring smooth and meaningful programme implementation.

Looking ahead, he said Hikmah Bintulu will continue to grow through curriculum development, teacher training and enhanced learning facilities.
