KUCHING (Oct 15): Two charitable organisations received donations from hole-in-one achiever Peter Usang Saga through the Samarahan Country Club (SCC) during the prize presentation for the SCC Club Championship on Sunday.

Sarawak Society For Parents Of Children With Special Needs (Pibakat) and Sarawak Single Mothers’ Association each received RM6,500 which was a fund set up by Peter from part of his hole-in-one prize of RM65,000.

The Kelab Golf Sarawak golfer and SCC associate golfer had achieved the hole-in-one at SCC Hole 3 on Sept 26 this year.

When interviewed, Peter explained why he had set aside 30 per cent of his prize money for charity.

“SCC have a list of charity organisations and one of them is Sarawak Single Mothers’ Association and I know and have seen how difficult how the single mothers are in to raise their children and they are the sole breadwinners.

“The other organisation is for the children with special needs and the remaining of the fund will be for other organisations which will be decided by SCC later,” he said.

It was Peter’s second hole-in-one achievement, the first was at KGS in 2015.

Receiving the donations were Pibakat treasurer Raymond Chong and Sarawak Single Mothers’ Association treasurer Dayang Lenora Awang Bujang and executive secretary Jemilah Let.
