The project, under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA), covers a length of 510 metres and a width of eight metres, and construction began in late November 2025.

Present to witness the handover was Deputy Minister of Transport (River and Sea) and Tasik Biru assemblyman, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.

Earlier, he also visited the construction site of the Bau Bidayuh Cultural Centre under the People’s Project (Projek Rakyat), which is nearing full completion.

At the same time, Henry also conducted a visit to the project site of the parking facility at Bau Hospital to inspect its progress and readiness.

The project, funded under the 2025 Rural Transformation Project (RTP), began on Oct 14, 2025, and provides 60 parking bays, each measuring six metres in length and 2.8 metres in width. The facility is expected to help ease the existing parking shortage at the healthcare centre.

During the visit, Henry urged the contractor to carry out improvements to several sections identified as not meeting safety standards and which could affect the comfort of patients, visitors and hospital staff, before the handover of the project site to Bau Hospital management scheduled for next week. — DayakDaily
