BINTULU (Oct 2): A fire destroyed a vacant double-storey house in Kampung Jepak here this morning.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said 17 firefighters from the Bintulu and Kidurong fire stations were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 10.53am.
“The firefighting team quickly set up a 300-foot hose line and began extinguishing the flames using water from their fire engine’s tank,” Bomba said in a statement.
Their coordinated efforts brought the fire under control by 11.25am and it was fully extinguished by 12.39pm.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
