BARAM, Sept 8: Road upgrading works from Jalan Lapok to Long Tisam in Baram will be carried out at the end of next year.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (Public Health and Housing) Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil said the project will benefit the residents of Long Tuyut, Long Tabing, Long Teran, Long Jegan, Long Takong and Long Tisam, Tinjar.

“Therefore, local residents are requested to cooperate with the implementing party,” he said in the inauguration ceremony of the Dewan Serbaguna Yesus Tuhan, Lapok here yesterday (Sept 7).

Dr Penguang who is also Marudi assemblyman, further urged local longhouses in the area to apply for the allocation of a cemetery and the access road to it with the Unit For Other Religions (Unifor).
