Jerebu: All schools in Johor, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan will be closed tomorrow

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 13: All schools in Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan will be closed tomorrow (Oct. 14), following a tumultuous situation that has hit the country.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek said the closure also involved schools in several districts in Selangor, Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak.

In Selangor, schools involved are under the Regional Education Department (PPD) Hulu Langat and Sepang, while in Pahang involve PPD Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin.

In Sabah, the closure involves schools under Tawau PPD, while in Sarawak it involves Serian PPD, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu.

"Schools in all other states and districts will operate as normal.

"During the closure period, Teaching and Learning at Home (PdPR) will be implemented, while teachers as well as Executive Group Members (AKP) are allowed to work from home (BDR)," he said via Facebook post today.

A total of 22 areas across the country have recorded air pollution index readings (IPU) at unhealthy levels as of 3 pm today.
