ADVERTISE HERE
SIBU (July 6): The Juma’ani Tuanku Haji Bujang Welfare Complex (JJKTHB) has received a donation of essential goods from Awabin Foundation and Sungai Sadit Kanan’s village security and development committee (JKKK).
A simple handover ceremony took place at the complex’s premises here yesterday, where the donations were received by JJKTHB’s manager Najilanisa Suhaili.
Also present to witness the event was Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Community Development team leader Kevin Lau, who is also Sibu Rural District Council councillor.
Lau said the joint initiative by Awabin Foundation and JKKK Sungai Sadit Kanan would go a long way towards creating a caring society.
Through this initiative, he said Awabin not only hoped to promote its healthy food products but was also doing its part to give back to the society.
“I am thankful to both of these organisations because of their caring efforts, and this is something that we should be proud of,” said Lau.
Meanwhile, Najilanisa in her brief remarks said that the complex currently housed 60 children, including two non-Muslim.
Also present at the event were Awabin Foundation manager Lim Hock Bin, JKKK Sungai Sadit Kanan chairman Penghulu Wong Ung, and community leader Kapitan Chew Hoo Kiong.
