KUCHING (March 17): Siblings Lavinia Kho Jia Jie and Eldred Kho Yek Zhen stole the spotlight at the SSC-Abas U21 March Roll-Off 2026, clinching the girls’ and boys’ singles titles respectively at Megalanes Sarawak, Emart Batu Kawa.
The four-day tournament, held on March 7, 8, 14 and 15, was the second roll-off event of the year and featured youth bowlers competing across various age divisions, including singles and age-group sub-categories.
After achieving a grand slam of 10 consecutive titles in 2025, Lavinia kept her winning momentum by capturing the first two roll-offs of the 2026 season, including the March edition.
Her younger brother Eldred also impressed by securing the boys’ singles crown.
In the girls’ singles final, Lavinia finished ahead of Adriana Ramiza Ramulo and Nur Fathi Fatihah Mohammad Zakry.
Gerald Ethan Tony finished runner-up in the boys’ singles event with Muhd Isyraq Iqbal third.
Meanwhile, the roll-off also featured sub-division events across the Under-11, Under-13, Under-16 and Under-21 categories.
In the Girls Under-11 category, Isabel Mok Yi Nuo emerged champion followed by Syahieza Damia Syarul Nizam and Eleanor Rainner Harman.
Jonas Yap Zao Min won the Boys Under-11 title followed by Alfred Phang Kang Yee and Edward Choo Jia Jing.
The Girls Under-13 title went to Nur Fathi Fatihah Mohammad Zakry ahead of Joyce Lidwina Wilfred Vincent and Kueh Wan Ting.
Muhd Amzar Ahmad Syukri topped the Boys Under-13 division followed by Lee Tee Ker and Tommy Kee Yong Hong.
Top three in the Girls Under-16 category were Tantiana Marissa Ramulo, Arwynn Galleina Arthur Ray and Esther Verra Nilsson.
Gerald Ethan Tony captured the Boys Under-16 title ahead of Saiful Iman Shah Abdullah and Noel Ayden Constantine.
The Girls Under-21 podium mirrored the main event results with Lavinia Kho emerging champion followed by Adriana Ramiza Ramulo and Claudia Kumang Jakson.
In the Boys Under-21 category, Eldred Kho secured the title ahead of Muhd Isyraq Iqbal and Cornelius Aldhelm Sajat.
Among the prizes presenters were Abas deputy president Shaifulbahri Shukri, vice president Robert Lu Nam Min and Sarawak Sports Corporation sports development officer Esthet Samuel.
