KUCHING: KPJ Healthcare Berhad has reaffirmed its dedication to clean and ethical business practices by renewing its ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) certification that it has held since 2020.
According to KPJ Healthcare Risk, Compliance and Integrity head, Sharizul Baseri, as a publicly listed company on Bursa Malaysia, under the FTSE Good ESG rating in the G-Governance category, KPJ has achieved a full score of 5 in the Anti-Corruption subcategory.
“Today, we are proud that the climax of this Anti-Corruption Programme series is being held at KPJ Kuching, serving as the host for the KPJ Sarawak Region’s anti-corruption pledge ceremony.
“The event is part of the Anti-Corruption Programme series that we have organised and conducted for the entire network of KPJ specialist hospitals since May, starting with the Southern Region and followed by four other regions, culminating at the headquarters in Kuala Lumpur on July 29.
“For us, it is fitting to renew this pledge as we are aggressively transforming KPJ Healthcare Berhad into a high-performing organisation with excellent governance, free from corruption,” he said.
He said this during KPJ Healthcare Berhad Anti-Coruption Programme with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and Anti-Corruption Ceremony (IBR) for Sarawak Region here Tuesday.

“Among other achievements, in the risk rating reassessment of KPJ Healthcare Berhad in December 2023, we received confirmation that KPJ successfully reduced its risk rating from Moderate Risk in 2020 to Low Risk.
“This achievement is a testament to our firm commitment to integrity and the hard work of everyone at #teamKPJ, including all of you present in this hall this morning,” he said.
Meanwhile, Maisarah Omar, Southern and East Malaysia Region chief executive executive (CEO), said that its commitment to ethical practices and transparency is further reinforced through the IBR session.
“The pledge we take today is proof of our commitment to conducting all our affairs with full responsibility, transparency, and in adherence to the law and public service ethics.
“As an organisation entrusted with the significant responsibility of ensuring the well-being of society, we must set an example by upholding the values of integrity and professionalism,” she said.
She also said that this programme aligns with KPJ’s new shared value, C.A.R.E (Committed, Accountable, Respectful, and Excellent), further strengthening KPJ’s dedication to integrity and ethical practices in all aspects of operations.
