MIRI (Sept 14): The Ling Family Education Fund is continuously working with Agro Bank to provide Takaful Kasih Plus personal accident insurance for the fund recipients.
A simple ceremony at Agro Bank office here recently saw branch manager Alvina Benjamine handing over the takaful insurance cards worth RM200,000 to the Ling Family Education Fund manager Alan Ling.
The takaful coverage includes protection benefits for accidental death and permanent disability amounting to RM20,000; funeral expenses of RM2,000; ward cash allowance of RM20 per day for a maximum of 30 days; and medical treatment costs of RM1,500 per year.
The takaful cards were then distributed to ten students who were the recipients of the education fund during a ceremony at L&P Consultant Services here on Tuesday.
According to Ling, the Ling Family Higher Education Fund has benefitted more than 50 local students here since it was established in Nov, 2023.
He hoped that the sincere donation from his family could alleviate the burden of the needy families in supporting their children who were pursuing their tertiary education at local higher-learning institutions.
“The Ling Family Higher Education Fund will continue to work with Agro Bank in providing this personal accident insurance for our recipients.
“I must also thank L&P Consultant Services for assisting in the application and evaluation process of each application, to ensure that our financial assistance is channelled to those genuinely from the low-income groups who strive hard to study at higher learning institutions in the country,” said Ling.
Also present at the simple handover ceremony of the takaful cards were Agro Bank Miri assistant branch manager Dayang Siti Zulaiha and financial advisor Paul Yap.
