A firefighter extinguishes a bush fire at Sungai 7, Kuala Baram Monday night.
MIRI (March 17): Lutong fire station has received five reports garbage piles and bush fires since Monday.
Station chief Henry Jugah, who shared reports of these cases, stated that firefighters were called to extinguish two piles of burning rubbish and two bush fires between 12.30pm and 8.52pm on Monday.
The first incident was a garbage pile fire along Jalan Dato Permaisuri in Permyjaya at around 12.30pm, followed by a bush fire near M3 Express Logistic, Permy Technology Park at 4.42pm. At the same time, another garbage file fire was reported near Emart Tudan.
Later that evening, firefighters were deployed to tackle a bush fire at Sungai 7, Kuala Baram at around 8.52pm.
The operation continued into the early hours of Tuesday, when another garbage pile fire was reported along Jalan Sukma, Senadin at around 4.20am.
Henry said all fires were successfully brought under control without any reported injuries.
Meanwhile, he urged the public to avoid open burning and to dispose of waste responsibly.
