KUCHING, Oct 13: Stop spreading misleading information about the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme or risk being blacklisted, says Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (Motac) Dato Sri Tiong King Sing.
Tiong said his ministry is aware that inaccurate information about the MM2H programme is being spread, including claims that it is not yet operational and cannot accept applications.
“Following multiple complaints, we have launched an investigation to identify the agents behind this misinformation.
“Once identified, we will take strict action, including blacklisting those involved, their directors, and shareholders to prevent misconduct,” he said in a statement today.
He clarified that the MM2H programme has been relaunched and is open to eligible applicants, and several categories of applicants have been successfully approved.
However, he said, the online application system is still undergoing testing to ensure it functions smoothly.
“Opening the system prematurely, without fully ensuring its reliability, could lead to failures that would undermine the government’s systems and erode applicants’ confidence. We ask for your patience while we perfect it,” he added.
He said applications for MM2H are being accepted through other channels, and some applicants have already been approved under different categories.
He also encouraged all potential applicants to seek information directly from official sources and avoid being misled by unofficial reports.
“The MM2H programme is ready, and we welcome all interested foreign friends to apply through the proper channels and take advantage of the opportunity to live and develop in Malaysia. The Ministry will continue to oversee the process, ensuring transparency, fairness, and the protection of every applicant’s rights.
“For more details and the latest updates, applicants can visit Motac’s official website, contact the Helpdesk OSC MM2H (03-88917434; 03-88917439; 03-88917427), or email [email protected] for the most accurate information,” he said. — DayakDaily
