KUCHING (Sept 24): Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma) first timer Jacqueline Kaboh claimed the gold medal in the Women’s individual tenpin bowling (visual impairment) category today.

Despite facing challenges during the competition, the 36-year-old Mirian refused to let that hinder her performance.

“This is my first time competing and my goal has always been to win gold for Sarawak. I didn’t expect to win a medal but in my heart, I was determined to aim for gold for Sarawak,” she told reporters when met at the event at Megalanes Batu Kawa here today.

She shared she had started training in January this year in preparation for Para Sukma.

“The secret to my success is that I learned a lot from every bowler. There were also courses that helped me with training. My sister has also been a constant support; always encouraging me to learn.

“I also wach TikTok videos on bowling because I have always been passionate about the sport,” she shared.

She added she would be competing in the doubles and trios categories, and hopes to win gold in these events as well.

Jacqueline, despite being currently employed, said she was dedicated to her training.

“This is like a job in itself. After this, I want to continue competing in other tournaments. I want to do my best for Sarawak,” she said.
