Missing man’s body found floating in Tanjung Manis village

SIBU (Aug 2): The body of a man, who was reported missing yesterday, was found floating at Kampung Jerijeh, Tanjung Manis this morning.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) confirmed the body was that of Kasim Ahmad, 31.

Bomba received a missing persons report on Kasim at 11.56pm last night.

“We dispatched four personnel from Tanjung Manis fire station to the scene about 18km away to help locate the victim,” Bomba said in a statement.

The department said a member of the public called at 7.30am today to report a body had been found floating in a ditch around the area where the victim was last known to be.

The police later brought the body to a nearby mosque with the help of villagers for further action.
