SERIAN (March 2): A villager from Kampung Mayang Kawan in Tebakang here has been found safe, less than 24 hours after she was reported missing.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said when firefighters arrived at the village this morning, the victim, identified as 77-year-old Maria Jawas Jamas had already been found by villagers.
“The victim was found by the villagers at about 5km from the village at 9.15am,” Bomba said in an update.
The senior citizen did not suffer any injuries.
She left the village for her orchard on Sunday at 12.15pm and failed to return home.
Villagers conducted a search from 5pm to 10pm but could not locate her.
Bomba ended its operation at 11.15am.
