SIBU (Aug 31): The Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (Motac) is aiming to attract more Middle Eastern tourists to Malaysia by promoting the country as a popular summer destination, said minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.
He said is leading the Middle East Sales Mission, which aims to enhance tourism ties with Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, to woo visitors with the offer of a cooler climate, world-class wellness retreats and refreshing highland getaways.
“The mission also highlights the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme and Visit Malaysia Year 2026, as well as opportunities for cultural and religious tourism,” he said in a post on Facebook.
Tiong added that in this regard, key agreements and collaborations are being forged to strengthen bilateral tourism cooperation.
