KUCHING (Aug 2): The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Serian Chapter has received a new ambulance, thanks to the Malaysian Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The simple handing-over ceremony, which took place at MRC Kuching District headquarters near Reservoir Park here today, involved the church’s representatives Elder Larry Hathaway and Sister Yevette Hathaway, and MRC Serian branch chief Lai Chau Liong.

In his remarks, Lai expressed his gratitude to the church for their kindness and support to the chapter.

He added that it was through the church’s selfless acts of donation that the non-governmental organisation (NGO) was able to further fulfil its mission of serving people in need and promoting humanitarian values.

“I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to Sister Yevette and Elder Larry for their commitment in helping others and making a positive impact in our communities.

“Your generosity will undoubtedly change many lives,” added Lai.

He added that augmented by the new ambulance, MRC Serian would be able to reinforce its commitment to serve the community.

“We are committed to honouring the dedication and compassion given to us, and continuing our mission of providing aid and support to those in need,” said Lai.
