KUCHING: The Muay Thai Kenyalang Club made history by emerging as the overall champion of the 8th Edition of the TYT Muay Thai Championship Cup.
The club won 15 gold medals over the four-day tournament (October 3 to 6), earning them the coveted trophy.
The trophy was presented byYouth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah at the Kuching Amphitheatre here, last night (Oct 5).
Also present were Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) mayor Datuk Hilmy Othman and Sarawak Muay Thai Association (PMNS) President Jumaat Ibrahim.
“Congratulations to the Muay Thai Kenyalang Club on their achievement as the overall champion.
“I believe their success in this tournament is due to the hard work and dedication of their athletes and officials,” said Jumaat.
Additionally, Jumaat expressed his admiration for the outstanding performance displayed by the athletes representing various Muay Thai clubs in this competition.
“We are truly impressed by the actions showcased by the Muay Thai athletes from the participating clubs,” he said.
