SIBU (Sept 13): Several roads in Mukah will close for the Sarawak-level Maulidur Rasul celebration on Sept 17.
Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the road closures and diversions will be from 5am until the procession ends.
“The roads that will be closed are Jalan Setia 1, Simpang Jalan Ceria, Jalan Wawasan Roundabout, Jalan Ceria, Jalan Bestari, Jalan Pinang, Jalan Panggung, Jalan Pasar, Jalan Haji Zahwi, Jalam Pam Stesen, Jalan Old Pam Stesen, Jalan Orang Kaya Setiaraja, Jalan Set, Boulaward Setia Raja, and Lingkungan Setia Raja,” he said in a statement.
Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar is expected to join the procession.
Rizal advised the public not to park their vehicles on road shoulders to avoid causing congestion.
He suggested they park their vehicles at the Pehin Setia Raja building carpark, government administrative centre building, or at the mosque.
“The public are also advised not to park their vehicles indiscriminately to avoid causing any unnecessary traffic jams,” he added.
