KUCHING: A Health Ministry (MOH) nurse and ambulance driver were seriously injured after the ambulance they were in crashed into the back of a trailer truck that had stopped by the roadside at Jalan Memaloi, Betong on Monday.
According to a spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received a call regarding the incident at 4.24am.
“The ambulance, which was en route to Betong Hospital, was unable to avoid the truck and crashed into its back. Two victims — a male driver and female nurse who were both MOH staff — were seriously injured and were rescued by the public before the operations team arrived at the scene.
“The nurse was rushed to Betong Hospital while the ambulance driver was taken to Sri Aman Hospital,” it said in a statement.
