PADAWAN: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) through its detective course series has organised the ‘Program Jiwa Murni: Reaching Out to the Underprivileged’ to support underprivileged communities.
Sarawak Special Branch chief SAC Mohd Taufik Toh Abdullah said the initiative was part of the PDRM detective course participants’ efforts to assist those in need, including the family of Edwin Jack Dewing from Kampung Punau.
The programme involved refurbishing and improving the selected family’s home while providing essential supplies.
This effort was carried out in collaboration with the Village Chief and the P198 Puncak Borneo Service Centre, and has been ongoing since August 31.
“My hope is that programmes like this strengthen the connection between the community and PDRM, serving as a model for PDRM personnel to be more open to offering help to the community,” said Mohd Taufik in a statement today (Sept 8).
The modest yet impactful programme involved 54 PDRM personnel, with 13 participants from the Sabah contingent and the rest from Sarawak.
Also present were the PDRM Detective Course Kuala Kubu Bharu Police Academy chief coordinator ASP Thyagaraj Subramaniam, Puncak Borneo Service Centre Special Welfare Officer Arundi Gonjoh and Kampung Punau Padawan Village Chief Punet Siet.
