Pelawan rep honours International Women’s Day with community chicken giveaway

SIBU (March 5): Pelawan women voters will receive 1,500 chickens in a special initiative marking International Women’s Day.

Pelawan assemblyman Datuk Michael Tiang said the distribution is organised in collaboration with CCK Local, with both parties sponsoring 750 chickens each.

“The programme aims to celebrate International Women’s Day while showing appreciation and care to women in the community,” he said in a statement.

Voucher collection begins today (March 5) at the Pelawan Service Centre, No. 20, Lorong 2F, Sungai Merah, from 9.30am to 3.30pm on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.

Eligible recipients must bring their identity card.

For female voters aged 60 and above, vouchers may be collected by a representative, with one voucher allowed per representative.

The chicken distribution will take place on March 8 from 8.30am to 11am at CCK Local in Ulu Sungai Merah.

Recipients are required to present their vouchers to collect the chicken.

Tiang expressed gratitude to CCK Local for their support and cooperation in making the programme possible.
