Kong says DAP will continue to support associations like Persatuan Nyanyian Zhen Shan Mei that contribute to society in meaningful ways.

KUCHING (July 24): Persatuan Nyanyian Zhen Shan Mei is not simply a club for singing enthusiasts but is also formed to embark on charitable causes, said Michael Kong.

In highlighting the club’s activities, the special assistant to Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen said members organise approximately three singing competitions each year, with 100 per cent of the entry fees paid by contestants donated to charitable organisations in Kuching such as Sarawak Hun Nam Siang Tng.

In this regard, he said Democratic Action Party (DAP) will continue to support associations like Persatuan Nyanyian Zhen Shan Mei that contribute to society in meaningful ways.

“Their dedication not only showcases the power of collective effort but also highlights how recreational activities can be transformed into powerful tools for social good.

“It is associations like these that strengthen the fabric of our community, and we are committed to supporting and celebrating their efforts,” said Kong.

To encourage them to continue pursuing their hobby and using it as a platform to serve the underprivileged, he said Chong has arranged a financial allocation for the club.

“It is a local club that brings together like-minded individuals who share a passion for singing.

“As a social club, they rely on internally-generated funds to support their activities, embodying a spirit of self-sufficiency and community engagement. What sets this association apart is their commitment to charity through music,” Kong explained.

He said it is truly heartening to see people coming together to use their hobbies for such noble causes and making a positive impact on the community.
