Pickleball 2026 strengthening ties through sports

KUCHING, 4 Oct: Pickleball PAKAT 2026 is being organised as a platform to strengthen ties between Pekat Group Berhad and various agencies in Sarawak, as well as encourage participation in sports and healthy lifestyles.

Sarawak Government Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said that hosting the tournament was also part of the company's social responsibility in supporting sports development especially to gather and build new talent in picket football.

"The pickleball tournament is not only for young people, but also brings together participants from all age groups including the elderly and the private sector as well as involves participation from different races.

"The situation reflects the sport's ability to unite society, in addition to its potential to continue developing through tournament promotion and private sector involvement such as PEKAT Pickleball 2026", he said during a media meeting at the tournament in Kuching today.

Additionally, the 2026 Pickleball Event pitted three categories of men's singles, women's singles and mixed doubles against 14 participating agencies.

He said that the promotion of the tournament not only gave space to leisure participants, but also became a field of interaction outside business affairs, thereby strengthening Pekat Group Berhad's ties with various agencies in Sarawak.

A total of 28 teams, each consisting of six to eight players participated in the tournament held at Pikabol Malaysia, Kuching.-TVS
