BINTULU (Aug 16): A man was injured after the pickup truck that he was driving crashed into a bush at Jepak roundabout, along the Jepak-Kuala Tatau coastal road, late Thursday.

According to Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Zone 5 Bintulu chief Wan Kamarudin Wan Ahmad, a team from the station was dispatched to the scene immediately upon receiving a call about the incident at 10.22pm

“Upon arrival, the rescuers found a pickup truck that had crashed into the bush beside the road,” he said, adding that the firefighters proceeded to move the victim from the bush before putting him on a stretcher and bringing him to a safe area.

The 40-year-old man was then taken to Bintulu Hospital for further treatment.

“After ensuring the situation was completely safe, the rescuers concluded the rescue operation before returning to the station,” said Wan Kamarudin.
