Pillion rider sent to hospital after collision with 4WD in Lawas

MIRI (Sept 12): A motorcycle pillion rider sustained injuries in a collision with a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle in Lawas today.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the accident took place along Jalan Merapok near Kampung Limpaki, about eight kilometres from the town.

“The victim was sent by a Civil Defence Force team to Lawas Hospital for treatment. Bomba personnel at the scene flushed the road of accident debris and spilled oil to ensure the safety of other motorists,” it said.

Personnel from the Lawas fire station were involved in the cleanup works, it added.

The statement did not specify the nature of the injuries sustained by the pillion rider, except to say no one else was hurt in the accident.
