Plaza Merdeka celebrates 13th anniversary with RM250,000 giveaway, electric car grand prize

KUCHING (Dec 13): Plaza Merdeka is marking its 13th anniversary with an exciting giveaway for shoppers, offering 11 prizes valued at over RM250,000 – with a grand prize of an Ora Good Cat electric car.

As a mall that hosts over five million visitors each year, Plaza Merdeka has established itself as a key venue for significant events.

It has welcomed major national and international gatherings such as the Kuching Marathon, Rainforest World Music Festival, and the RENTAP Fighting Championship, alongside numerous music launches, film productions, and community celebrations.

This year alone, it has held 167 events this year, reinforcing its status as one of Sarawak’s most dynamic event destinations.

The retail landscape continues to evolve with new brands enhancing the mall’s variety.

Recent additions include Shabuyaki, Baskin Robbins, CHAGEE, Vivo, Realme, ZTE Nubia and Umobile.

For the festive season, the mall has entered a strategic partnership with Grab.

This collaboration activates the Sarawak Dine out Deals (DoD) feature across the mall’s Food Plaza and other participating food and beverages outlets.

A total of 30 tenants are offering exclusive promotions, including discounts of up to 25 per cent off the total bill with no minimum spend required.

This initiative aims to boost customer experience, support local merchants, and further cement Plaza Merdeka’s reputation as the state’s go-to destination for dining and entertainment.

Shoppers can participate in the anniversary giveaways by spending a minimum of RM199 at Plaza Merdeka.

Entries are based on same-day receipts, which can be combined across up to two transactions.

The more a customer spends, the greater their chances of winning.

To enter the lucky draw, receipts must be presented at the dedicated redemption counter on the Ground Floor, located in front of the Customer Service Counter.

The anniversary celebration was attended by Kuching North Datuk Bandar Datuk Hilmy Othman, Plaza Merdeka managing director Steve Ng, and executive director Anriza Wong Cordero.
