Preparations in full swing for TYT birthday parade

KUCHING (Oct 10): The full rehearsal for the parade in conjunction with the 78th birthday celebration of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at Padang Merdeka today went smoothly.

According to Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who is the minister in charge of the parade, expressed his gratitude for the smooth execution of the rehearsal, including the performances that will be showcased during the event.

He also hopes that the event will run smoothly on the actual day.

“My hope is that the weather on the day of the parade will be as good as today,” he said according to a report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas).

He also extended his appreciation to the Royal Malaysia Police, the Malaysian Armed Forces, the Sarawak Protocol, Ceremony, and Event Management Unit, as well as all the contingents involved to ensure that this Saturday’s event would be a grand and successful one.

Also present at today’s full rehearsal were Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and Federal-State Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali and Energy and Environmental Sustainability deputy minister Datuk Dr Hazland Hipni.

Senior Private Secretary to the Governor of Sarawak Dato Sri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie was also present.
