The visit focused on the presentation of a concept design related to the proposed location and facilities for the palliative care centre in Petra Jaya. The proposal was submitted by KPWK following views and concerns expressed by Toh Puan Fauziah on the pressing need to establish a palliative care facility in Kuching.

Tun Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah shared the view that the establishment of such a centre would be highly significant, not merely as a place of care for patients with terminal illnesses, but also as a holistic support facility aimed at enhancing patients’ quality of life, particularly for those facing challenges in receiving proper care at home.

They also expressed hope that the proposed palliative care centre could be realised in the near future for the well-being of the people of Sarawak.

Also present during the visit were KPWK permanent secretary Nur Alina Abdullah @ Colliner Gohe; Director of the Sarawak Land and Survey Department Datuk Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood; deputy director (Buildings and Expertise) of the Public Works Department Sharifah Liz Farwati Wan Omar; Deputy Director (Health) of the Sarawak State Health Department Dr Vivek Vijayan; Two Three Hospice president Dr Winnie Ling Hui Lee; and KPWK Strategic Planning and Basic Division head Rohana Mohd Ali, along with other senior KPWK officers. — DayakDaily
