KUCHING: Running enthusiasts are encouraged to join the Sarawak Skills Development Centre (Sarawak Skills) Charity Run, set to be on November 3.
The event is in conjunction with Sarawak Skills 30th anniversary, will be grouped into two running categories – 5 kilometers and 3 kilometres, expected to attract around 750 participants.
Sarawak Skills executive director Hallman Sabri said that the objective of the run is to celebrate three decades of excellence in technical, vocational education and training (TVET) as well as to highlight all its stakeholders efforts for the community.
He said that the proceeds from the run would be used to purchase new dialysis machines for the Nephrology Department at Sarawak General Hospital (HUS), thereby enhancing the care for patients in need.
“We are very excited to organise this event together with strategic partners, namely the Sarawak Electronics and Supporting Industries Association (SECA), City Jogger’s Club (CJC), and Sarawak General Hospital (HUS).
“Therefore, we urge stakeholders, including the public, to support this noble initiative so that we can collectively assist individuals receiving treatment at HUS,” he said in a statement
For the record, participants will start the run at Sarawak Skills, Tabuan Jaya campus here and finish at the same location, with the 5km run starting at 6:30 am and the 3km run at 6:40 am.
The registration fee for this charity run is RM50 per participant, inclusive of a T-shirt, tag number, and a finisher medal.
Interested individuals are encouraged to register online by scanning the QR code on the event poster or by visiting the registration link available on Sarawak Skills Facebook page. The registration deadline is September 27.
