Rodney wants to reward the best performance in front of his own fans.

KUCHING, 6 Oct: Kuching City FC defender Rodney Calvin wants to make the opening game of the Shopee Cup against Tampines Rovers FC a stage for his team to give their best performance to fans at Taha Ariffin Stadium tomorrow.

According to Rodney, the action has its own value because it is an international match and not just a regular league one.

"I'm always ready because this is our first home game.

"Even though it's not a league, but this is an international match.

"Not always Kuching City is on a big stage like the Shopee Cup. So, I think we want the fans to come and support the team no matter what the decision", he told a press conference ahead of the first game of the Shopee Cup, at Taha Ariffin Stadium, today.

Rodney also emphasized that the support of fans can provide additional motivation to players when faced with challenges on the international stage.

Meanwhile, Rodney called on Kuching City supporters to give full support and enthusiasm to the team as the action unfolds.

He also assured that Kuching City's line-up will strive to perform their best performance as a reward for the support provided.

"So, tomorrow we'll show the best performance from Kuching's team. To all of you", he added.

Kuching City FC is scheduled to open the curtains of the 2026/27 Shopee Cup campaign against Tampines Rovers FC at Taha Ariffin Stadium, Kuching, tomorrow.
