S’wak govt presents over RM1 million in funds to 7 mission schools in northern region

MIRI, Aug 30: Seven mission schools in the northern region of Sarawak have been granted financial assistance by the State government through the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor).

The funds, totalling RM1,102,360, were presented by Sarawak’s Minister for Transport, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, in a ceremony at SK St Joseph Miri today.

The financial aid was distributed to the schools with the goal of supporting and enhancing their ongoing upgrading efforts.

The schools benefiting from this funding are SK Good Shepherd Marudi (RM100,000), SK RC Kubong Limbang (RM150,000), SK St Anthony (M) Bintulu (RM250,000), SK St Edmund Limbang (RM150,000), SK St Joseph Miri (RM102,360), SK St Pius Long San Baram (RM150,000), and SMK St Joseph Miri (RM200,000).

Speaking at the event, Lee emphasised the importance of these funds in assisting mission schools in continuing to provide quality education.

“These funds to the schools would be instrumental in carrying out necessary upgrades and improvements to their facilities,” said Lee, who is also the assemblyman for Senadin.

He also reiterated the State government’s commitment to supporting educational institutions across Sarawak, particularly those that contribute to the State’s diverse cultural and religious fabric. — DayakDaily
