Earlier Wednesday (Sept 25), in the female singles qualifying round, Angeline Melissa Lawas and Nuraisyah Madzelan secured victories, both defeating their opponents, Sabah’s Natalya Natasya Wilson and Labuan’s Melody General, with identical 9-1 scores.

In the male singles quarter-finals, Sarawak’s Tay Boon Seng edged out a narrow 6-5 victory over Labuan’s Carlo Jay Chai, while Dale Adelric Teri advanced to the semi-finals with a 6-1 win against Terengganu’s Mohammad Rizaili Muda.

Despite a 1-8 loss to Perak’s Lim Yin Xiang in the female singles BC3 category, Sheirviana Matthew still secured a silver medal for Sarawak.

Unfortunately, Jervis Chi was unable to secure a higher placement after losing to Selangor’s Vikneshwaran, while Willyien Cliff missed out on a semi-final spot following a 1-3 defeat to Terengganu’s Syed Izz Zahiruddin Syed Kamaruddin.
