KUCHING (March 1): Development initiatives spanning the green economy and infrastructure sectors continue to be rolled out across the state under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) administration, said Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.
The state Deputy Minister of Transport said these efforts were aimed at strengthening economic growth and improving overall well-being, particularly in areas such as Mambong.
“I hope that all development programmes that have been planned and are being implemented will continue to receive support.
“I also hope that the people will continue to give their mandate to the GPS government to ensure the continuity of development programmes in this area,” he said, according to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit.
The Mambong assemblyman said this at the launch of a Chinese New Year celebration for his constituency in Padawan on Saturday.
Dr Jerip said the programme reflected Sarawak’s strong spirit of unity, noting that such celebrations were not confined to a single community.
“We are a multiracial, multiethnic and multi-religious society where every celebration throughout the year is observed together by all segments of the community,” he said.
During the event, he presented food baskets and red packets to recipients from needy groups.
Among those present were Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin and Kuching Deputy Resident Lim Hock Meng.
