Sarawak Governor, wife to host Hari Raya open house at Astana

KUCHING (March 18): The Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi will host their Hari Raya open house at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on the first day of Aidilfitri celebrations.

The Yang di-Pertua Negeri’s senior private secretary Datuk Seri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie, in a statement, said the open house will be held from 9am to 4pm.

He added that both Wan Junaidi and Fauziah will personally receive guests and invitees from 10am to 3pm.

Members of the public attending the event are advised to dress neatly and appropriately.

Men are encouraged to wear traditional Baju Melayu with headgear such as a tengkolok or songkok, while non-Muslim men may opt for long-sleeved batik attire.

Women are encouraged to wear Baju Kurung with keringkam or other suitable attire.

For parking, two zones, namely B and C have been designated for visitors.

Zone B at the State Legislative Assembly complex can accommodate about 500 vehicles, while Zone C at Wisma Bapa Malaysia will be used if Zone B is full.

A total of 10 vans will be provided to ferry visitors from Zone B to the main entrance of the Astana from 9am to 4pm.

Police will be on duty to manage traffic flow throughout the event, and the public is reminded not to park along road shoulders leading to the Astana to ensure smooth traffic movement.

People from all walks of life are welcome to attend the open house to celebrate Aidilfitri and foster closer ties between leaders and the rakyat.
