Sarawak hailed as best host in Para Sukma history by contingents

KUCHING (Sept 28): Contingents from other states praised Sarawak as the best host for the Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma) in its history to date.

The Federal Territory of Labuan’s lawn bowls head coach Abdul Hajis Nikman said that this year’s Para Sukma is the best he had participated in compared to previous editions.

“From accommodation, transportation, event venues, to food, everything was well taken care of by the host, Sarawak.

“The accompanying officials assigned to each state were also excellent, and we, the Federal Territory of Labuan, are very satisfied and consider it the best,” he said when met at the Sarawak Lawn Bowls Arena here today.

He also congratulated Sarawak for being the Para Sukma XXI overall champion and expressed hope that Para Sukma 2026 in Selangor would emulate the model used by Sarawak.

Meanwhile, Selangor’s lawn bowls athlete, Mohamad Yusril Hafiz Mohd Shukri, remarked that during his stay in Sarawak, there were no shortcomings or flaws from the host.

“This is my second time in Sarawak, and I feel great because there were no issues. The venue for lawn bowls was also excellent,” he said.

For the 2026 Para Sukma in Selangor, Mohamad Yusril hoped that his state would organise the Games as good as Sarawak.

Meanwhile, Perak lawn bowls head coach, Sirajul Adli Mohd Yusoff, said that the organising of Sukma XXI in Sarawak has been very thorough.

“Compared to previous editions, Sarawak can be considered the best,” he said, adding that he hoped the 2026 Para Sukma in Selangor would do just as well, if not better.
