KUCHING (Oct 2): The Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi received a courtesy call from Sarawak Malays National Association (PKMS) at the Astana Negeri today.
PKMS president Dr Wan Ali Tuanku Madhi, who led the delegation, said their meeting was to invite Wan Junaidi and wife to the PKMS 85th Anniversary Dinner at Hikmah Exchange Event Centre on Oct 26.
He said that at the coming anniversary dinner, the project to build PKMS’ two-storey building at Jalan Patingan would be launched.
Also to be launched at the dinner is a book on Sarawak Malay Marriage Customs.
The dinner is expected to be attended by a total of 500 guests consisting of Malay dignitaries as well as some invited guests from Pontianak and Sambas in Indonesia.
He also said that PKMS, which was formed on Oct 10, 1939 and with 10,000 members, would be holding a thanksgiving prayer event at Masjid Al-Hakim at Jalan Muda Hashim here this Oct 10.
