KUCHING, Aug 14: The newly constructed building of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Suba Buan in Bau is scheduled to be officially inaugurated by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Aug 17.
According to a report by TVS, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Transport (MOTS) and Tasik Biru assemblyman, Dato Henry Harry Jinep, announced that the new school building has been strategically relocated to higher ground to prevent the flooding issues that plagued the previous site.
The new location, along the road connecting Kampung Suba Buan and Kampung Suba Bau, will significantly improve accessibility for local residents and provide a safer educational environment for their children.
“The coordination meeting for the inauguration of SK Suba Buan with the new building, which has been relocated from a flood-prone area to higher ground, has been completed,” Henry said during a press conference held in Bau yesterday (Aug 13).
The new facility, constructed at a cost of RM24.65 million, includes 18 classrooms, six teachers’ quarters, and additional amenities.
The school is designed to accommodate up to 200 students, ensuring better educational infrastructure for the local community. — DayakDaily
