SDNU Sibu sends food aid to Kg Hilir fire victims

SIBU (Oct 2): The Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) Sibu has contributed food items to the 17 Kampung Hilir families whose houses were destroyed by fire on Sept 22.

SDNU Sibu chairman Chambai Lindong said he led executive committee members to send the aid yesterday.

“The food items were delivered to all representatives of the family members at Surau Darul Saadah in Kampung Hilir here.

“On hand to meet the SDNU Sìbu team was Penghulu Ibrahim Laili,” he said in a statement.

Chambai also expressed the members’ concern for the fire victims.

“These are challenging times for them and we hope and pray they will remain strong during this difficult time in rebuilding their lives and new homes.

“We also hope that the food items will help to lessen their burden,” he added.
