KUCHING, Nov 1: A search operation for a 34-year-old man who reportedly fell into Sg Maong from the Tan Sri Sulaiman Daud Bridge is ongoing.

A report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said they received a call regarding the incident at 8.52am yesterday (Oct 31) and deployed firefighters from Bomba Petra Jaya assisted by Bomba Batu Lintang.

According to the report, the victim is identified as Aliff Fadzree Azlam.

The second day of the search operation continues today with a diving team from Bomba Batu Lintang deployed together with police and Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel.

Meanwhile, Kuching District Police Chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah confirmed that police have received a report regarding the incident from members of the public.

He also called for members of the public to come forward with any information involving the incident by contacting the Kuching District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 082-244444 or Gita police deputy chief SM Henriz Christopher Ber at 013-5630098. — DayakDaily
