Selangor Sultan meets with Sarawak Anglican Bishop in Shah Alam

KUCHING (Oct 2): The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, welcomed the Bishop of the Anglican Church in Sarawak and Brunei, Rt Revd Datuk Danald Jute, at Istana Bukit Kayangan in Shah Alam today.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Selangor Royal Office, the meeting involved a fruitful exchange of views on various current issues.

“At the meeting, His Majesty and Danald exchanged views on current issues. His Majesty had previously visited Danald’s house in Kuching during His Majesty’s visit to Sarawak in November 2023,” the post stated.

The post also mentioned that Danald, who has served as the Bishop of the Anglican Church in Sarawak and Brunei since Aug 13, 2017, is actively involved in interfaith discussions and dialogues abroad, including at Al-Azhar University in Egypt.

“He also holds the position of Chairman of the Anglican Inter-Faith Commission at the global level,” the post added.
