MIRI (Nov 1): A fire at Senadin Jaya here last night left a woman and her two sons homeless.

The Lutong fire station said the 49-year-old mother made a distress call to its operations control room at 8.10pm.

A team was then despatched to the location around 6km away from the station.

“Arriving at the location, a single-storey wooden house measuring 30 x 40 feet was already destroyed in the fire,” said Lutong station chief Henry Jugah in a statement.

“We managed to extinguish the fire using a defensive method.”

He said the woman and her two sons, aged 15 and 21 years, managed to escape unhurt.

The fire was fully put out at 9.03pm.

The cause of the incident and value of damages are still under investigation.
