KUCHING, Jan 27: Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd has handed over RM445,000 in business zakat to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak during a courtesy visit to the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Senari Synergy chairman Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Dato Husain said the contribution reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and inclusive growth.
“Through the wakalah approach, part of the contribution is directly reinvested into meaningful initiatives such as the Permata Synergy Programme, enabling us to create lasting and meaningful outcomes for underprivileged children.
“We deeply appreciate the Right Honourable Premier’s leadership, guidance, and continued support as we align our efforts with Sarawak’s development aspirations,” he said in a statement today.
The handover was witnessed by Abang Johari and Sarawak Islamic Council president Datuk Misnu Taha.
Abdul Aziz said a portion of the zakat contribution would be channelled through the wakalah mechanism to fund the Permata Synergy Programme, which supports underprivileged children aged six to 12.
During the visit, Senari Synergy shared updates on its progress, focus on green energy, and regional expansion plans in line with Sarawak’s development agenda.
Senari Synergy also congratulated the Premier on being conferred the Order of the Rising Sun last year in recognition of his leadership and contributions to international cooperation and Sarawak’s development.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to continue working closely with the Sarawak Government and stakeholders to support sustainable development, enhance social wellbeing, and strengthen the state’s long-term economic resilience. — DayakDaily
