Senior citizen last seen leaving house on Sept 23 found dead

MIRI (Sept 30): A 70-year-old man who was last seen leaving his house in Shang Garden here on Sept 23 was found dead on Sunday.

Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the body of Lim Yu Kian @ Lim Kin San was discovered by a member of the public at Kampung Beraya Batu 1 around 5.05pm.

“Acting on information received, a team from the Tanjong Lobang police station went to the location where they found the missing man lying next to a car.

“Personnel from the Bekenu Health Clinic pronounced him dead at the scene,” he said in a statement today.

The body was sent to Miri Hospital for post-mortem to determine the cause of death, he added.

Alexson advised the public not to speculate on the case as it could jeopardise the investigation.

“Anyone with information related to this case are urged to go to the nearest police station,” he said.

Last week, Alexson in a statement said based on a police report lodged on Sept 25, Lim was last seen leaving his house on the evening of Sept 23 in a grey Toyota Rush.
