The programme, scheduled to run from 9.30am to 2pm at CCK Local here in collaboration with the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) Sibu, aimed to strengthen the prevention and control of rabies in dogs.

Organising chairman Kapitan So Teck Kee said the programme involved a few Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK).

“The JKKKs are Kawasan Jalan Pedada, Jln Merdeka, Jln Oya, Jln Berjaya, Jln Muhibbah & Pearl Garden, Sg Merah, Ulu Sg Merah, and Dr Wong Soon Kai,” he said when met by reporters at the programme.

For the year 2024, the Sibu Chinese Community Leaders Association organised eight dog vaccination campaigns, and today was the fifth one.

There will be three more vaccination campaigns held by the association, involving the University Technology of Sarawak (UTS) area in October, Bukit Assek in November, and the Permai area in December.
