Sibu Chinese community leaders assoc to hold 20th anniversary gathering on Oct 27

SIBU (Sept 3): The Sibu Division Chinese Community Leaders Association (PKKMC) will organise a gathering on Oct 27 to mark their 20th anniversary celebration.

According to its chairman Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau, the event will be held at Kingwood Hotel here starting 6.30pm.

“We are expecting 800 to 1,000 people to join the gathering, where Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian will be the guest-of-honour.

“We will invite various government department heads and association members to the event,” he told reporters when met after chairing an association meeting here today.

Lau said the celebration’s organising committee chairman is Penghulu Lau Hieng Wuong and the event is themed ‘Collaborate and Pool Our Efforts to Create Prosperity Together’.

He added PKKMC Sibu members comprise 20 Penghulus and 102 Kapitans from three districts, namely Sibu, Kanowit and Selangau.

Lau also encouraged the public to join in the celebrations, and tables can be purchased for RM700 each.
