Sibu to host National Tang Soo Do Championships this weekend

SIBU (Oct 2): More than 300 exponents will converge here to participate in the 29th National Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwang (TSDMDK) Championships to be held at SMK Sacred Heart from Oct 5-6.

It is hosted by Sibu TSDMFK which is bringing the tournament here after a lapse of 50 years.

The championships has attracted exponents from Perak, Selangor, Samarahan, Kuching, Sarikei and Sibu.

“This is a chance to showcase your skills and bring glory to Sibu,” said Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng during the flag handing over ceremony to the 30 athletes from Sibu last weekend.

He also commended local organisers for staging the event since it was last staged here in 1974.

TSDMDK Sibu president Teng Tiong Kee has expressed gratitude to Chieng for his deep involvement in the sport.

Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang is expected to grace the opening ceremony on Oct 5.
